¿What is a pelagic trip?
A pelagic trip is a unique type of birdwatching where we venture several miles out to sea off shore Niebla, Valdivia, for approximately 5 to 6 hours. In this habitat, we can find bird species that can only be seen at sea and they very rarely approach the coast. Therefore, this is the only way to observe or photograph them.
¿What species of birds can we find?
Albatrosses, Petrels, Shearwaters, Penguins, Storm-petrels, Diving-petrels, Phalaropes, Skuas, Jaegers, Terns, Cormorants, Pelicans, Boobies, Gulls y many more.
Also, We are likely to have sightings of marine mammals like Whales, Otters, Sea Lions and Dolphins.
¿How risky is a pelagic trip?
¡Zero!
Don't be afraid, the trip is very safe.
We schedule departures when the weather is excellent, always prioritizing passenger comfort and experience. Furthermore, we adhere to all safety measures established by the regional maritime authority.
Some Recommendations
Wear warm clothing: Gloves, a scarf, and a hat are essential, remember we'll be at sea.
Bring water: We don't have access to drinking water, so it's necessary to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
Bring food: We'll be sailing for 5-6 hours, so you'll need a snack to keep you going.
