My name is Claudio Véliz, a Chilean birding guide based in the Los Ríos Region. My passion for birds began over five years ago with simple backyard birdwatching and quickly grew into a deep interest in Chile’s diverse avifauna, from land birds to pelagic species.
Over the years, I have combined bird observation with photography, building a strong field knowledge through constant practice, study, and documentation. I actively use eBird to record my observations and share bird photographs through my Instagram project Alaschile, where my photographic and field experience can be seen evolving over time.
I am a certified Bilingual Birding Guide, trained by the Centro de Humedales Río Cruces and the American Corner at Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). My tours are designed for small groups, ensuring a personalized, high-quality experience. All routes take place in locations I know intimately, as they have been my personal birding sites for many years.
My goal is to offer visitors an authentic birding experience in southern Chile, guided by local knowledge, respect for nature, and a genuine passion for birds.
